I can easily skip a senko or tube jig 20 or 30ft underneath any boat dock but I do it with a spinning reel MH7'2 duckett rod,20lb braid 3ft 12lb flouro leader. I've caught several fish this fall on boat docks with this set up. I've caught a few in the 6 pound range and had no problem pulling them through and around dock pilings. Why or better yet what's the benefit of using a baitcaster for this presentation? Kinda like using a wrench to hammer a nail.It will work but a hammer gets it done much faster. Spinning reel is just another tool in the arsenal.

^^^^^ Pretty Much me as well.

I've been trying to learn with my bait caster, and plan to continue...but the backlashes have been horrible! hammer

The spinning rod is the best technique if you don't want to speed all your fishing time fighting professional overruns...

I even use a small bobber-stopper with a t-rig... keeps the bait and weight together and u can adjust to the presentation based on what you're throwing...

I may try a spinning rig for skipping a fluke but I want to learn to skip a jig with the baitcaster. Others can do it so I just need to practice.
