Fish what you would during the day.
Shad and bream don't change colors at night.
Just pretend it is daytime

I've not had much luck at night on stained water lakes, but when I have like on cedar creek a bone or white sq bill crankbait under the dock lights has worked best for me....of course you'll catch just about anything that swims doing this.

I fish 10" Power Worms, Blue Fleck or Tequila Sunrise
I am going for the big bite at night, not so much out trying to catch little fish

A dark color short arm spinner bait with a single large Colorado style blade. Fish is slow shallow or deep.
Crank baits are good night time baits if the area is friendly to crank bait fishing.
Texas rigged power worms. A black power worm is hard to beat.

I use 5/0 myself on larger worms at night. I go for quality not quantity at night.

The 7 inch will work. I'm with RedRanger though, night time fishing is for big girls.

Booyah Moon Talker For when the fish are active, I like a spinnerbait. I've caught some really big fish at night and they've ruined other spinnerbaits. This one seems to hold up a lot better, and you can really feel the "thump" from the blade very well. Not to mention this one's cheaper than most. It's a quality spinnerbait if you ask me. Revenge Flippin' Jig Sometimes the fish can be pretty lethargic and don't want a moving bait, so I go for a black/blue or black/red jig. This one in particular comes with a stout hook, flexible weed guard, and a quality paint job on the head. Can't beat it for the price. This bait really excels during the Winter. Missle Tomahawk During the Summer I opt for this worm over a jig. Simply because it offers a bigger profile and it has more action than a jig. This worm is unique and has 2 curly legs instead of one. Thus, giving it more action. It's fantastic for nighttime fishing! Phenix Vibrator Jig Version III In the Springtime, at night, I like to throw a vibrating jig. This is your big fish bait right here, this is when you have a chance at a true giant. There's no better bait for Springtime night fishing if you ask me. I love the Z-Man chatterbaits but this one is far more durable. I feel like the quality is much higher than most vibrating jigs. You really get what you pay for!

You only need two rod/reel/bait set up's. Dark colored Texas rigged worm of choice & blk/blu spinnbait w/ Colorado blade.

I have had most of my luck on 6" red shad lizards. 2nd to that is blue fleck worms. I also catrch a lot of fish on medium diving CBs, like Normans DLN or Middle N or even the Bandit 200 or 300. Red is a good color to throw on CBs at night. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Jig, Jig with a rattle... square bill... spinnerbait... buzzbait... color doesn't matter - need light to reflect color, the lure sends off sound waves as well displaces water so the fish key in on it, keep the bait moving and make several cast to the same area incase a fish is tracking it...
