Bluegills will eat anything a trout will eat, without the attitude. (Most of the time, lol.) They are somewhat skittish, tho, so try sneaking up on a place where you have seen them. Remember, if you can see them clearly, chances are they can see you. Try a few poppers or top water flies early in the morning, up close to cover. As the full moon approaches, look for spawning beds. (They spawn at the full moon pretty much from when the water temp gets above 65 deg until it goes back below 65 deg.) Don't fish the beds, but cast a bead-head nymph (pretty much anything 3/4" long and brown, lol) past the beds to deeper water. Watch where your leader connects to your tippet. If it twitches, jerk the line in your off hand back about 6 inches or so, called a strip set. If you feel a tug back lift your rod tip and "reel" the fish in by pulling the line in with your off hand. (Use the index finger of your rod hand to trap the line against the cork while you grab the next handful. Just let the pulled-in line pile up at your feet.) Rinse and repeat! Good luck with your new obsession!

I have never had the RLS combo, but have had the Three Forks combo. Line is ok to get started. But I would recommend getting a better line before long. You can find deals if you look on eBay, Amazon, fishing forums, Sierra Trading post basspro, cabelas, etc... In the $30 range I would have to say the TFO floating lines. I picked up a 3 and 5 wt that I use a lot and haven't had any issues with them. Rio mainstream trout is another decent line, runs a half weight heavier for easier loading of the rod. Both run $39 and some change.
