Yea. I wish they would put more incentive on finding bigger fish. The first one or 2 the anglers still had that bigger fish mentality but once they figured out the dink fest deal that's all they want to do. Sometimes they hit a good stretch or area but not much. I want to see them locate and catch the bigger ones.

I agree. They definitely need to raise the minimum length to at least 14", but I'd really like to see it at 16". This would make for better TV.

I think.....what ever the size limit is for the lake they're fishing....should be the size limit for the match.....

My thought would be a tiered set of weight requirements to advance based on average fish size... Rough example: <1.5 lbs, 25 1.5 - 3 lbs, 22 >3 lbs, 18

Like a top 3 or 5 big bass bonus. The big bass counts a double, second counts at less and so on. It could give the 5-10th place guys a "Hail Mary," type of senerio.
Just thinking out loud.

To me, fishing just isn't a spectator sport. I would rather fish. If I have to stay home, I can think of a lot of other things to do.

That's the whole point of MLF. Fish the Format to win the money. You bet your booty that if I can catch 50 pounds on 15 oz. fish then I'm gonna do it rather than ditching a bite thats hot to search for a much slower big fish bite. Watch the Bassmaster events if you want to see them target big fish. MLF is fall about breaking down and patterning fish quickly to catch as many legal fish as possible. I LOVE watching someone catch fish after fish on a pattern they put together, even if they are dinks.

I absolutely love the MLF format. I really think that this format is the format of the future and many if not most of the big tournaments trails will be blue printed from the MLF format. Once someone works out the logistics then this format will be adopted across the board I believe. Imagine fishing lake fork, big sam or the bend and being able to count and weigh every bass caught over 12in. I know people like to look at big fish at the weighin stage and that's what pulls the fans but these fisheries can't sustain the tournament's the way they are set up now. Really makes no sense running around all day on the lake with 5 or more fish in the live well. When every fish over 12in counts numbers and size come into play. Getting penalties for beating up the fish, knowing whatthe other contestants are catching and that you really need to catch a fish because time's running out knowing that you are just ounces away from being knocked. Talk about pressure.
