With this cooler weather, has the striper bite been on the uptick? Looking at the forum, not seeing a lot of striper reports. I don't know if the lack reports means that the action has been slow. What's the typical late summer/early fall pattern?

Decent today even with an east wind. Took my nephew on his first striper trip. He landed the biggest one of all of us.

Where are some good places to fish for hybrids on Whitney? What's the best bait?

Don't think there are any hybrids in Whitney. If you mean Stripers then live shad. Can't help with location. When the sandies are busting top there seems to be a few striper under them.

Stripers on Whitney tend to move locations depending on the temp and weather. Take a pair of binoculars with you. Where you see the boats congregated you will find the whites with the stripers under them. Most of the guides fish the lower and mid portions of the lake. If you go to bird island and use your binoculars you will be able to see where the boats are congregating at that particular time and day.
