I have been bass fishing this pond near my apartment and was told that there are crappie in the pond. I am not experienced in crappie fishing but have taken to google and youtube. I would like opinions on what type of rig set up and bait for bank fishing a pond with vegetation near the bank. helpsign

Minnow and a bober or a selection of jigs and a bubble cast out with the jigs do a very slow retrieve and stop some. This will get you bass and other fish to. Also adjust the jig from the bobber up and down. Look for any down logs and brush plan on getting snagged on cover if your not getting snagged you chances of finding fish are less likely. Night fishing would be best with a lighted bobber. Google how to make a lighted bobber lots of Youtube videos on the subject or buy one.
Good luck!

As a kid, we used to destroy the crappie in one small pond with yellow Beetle Spins and the Mr Twister knock off of the Beetle Spin. The yellow ones with black stripes worked best. A slow, steady retrieve that kept it near the bottom was the key.
