I am still wanting to work full time. even though i am pushing 70. I do irrigation work. So lots of up and downs on the knees. Just wanting to hear some feed back on how well people do after the they get the new knee.

I have no idea on a knee, but from past surgeries I've had 4-6 weeks is a safe bet, and it's still going to be stiff for a while after that. But once it's back, you're good.
For about the past 3-4 weeks, I've been battling a tailbone issue that I can not get rid of. I plopped down on a wrought iron chair and miss judged the seat part and caught the arm just right on it. Instantly I knew something wasn't right, fought though it that night, and the next morning I couldn't hardly get out of bed. Pretty much hurts anytime I'm sitting down, or getting up out of a chair. Driving is about the worst.

BGService, I just read your second post, and that will be hard to determine now that we know your age, and that you want to work full time using your knees a lot.
My Dad had "replacement" surgery a few years ago, and he does have a hard time getting up and down, but then again,he isn't using his knees like you intend.
I'm surmise there probably are specific "knee replacement surgery" forums that could be more specific.
I know that if he is sitting for a while, and gets up immediately, it's a struggle. I tell him to bend it first, get it moving a bit, then get up.
For what you want to do in irrigation work, you'll probably have to inform "us" 1-2 months after you get back to work as to how well your surgery worked.
Addendum: If you can't work as you want with your "current" knee, that may help in deciding if you should go forward with a replacement. Good luck!

I crashed two days ago around 5:30 pm, that would be Nov. 1, 2017, at Rowlett Creek bike trail. It HURT! It's a trail and descent that I've done 200 times, or whatever, lots of times that is. My front tire hit the small rock right in the middle. I was not low enough to the seat, and I went over the handlebars hitting the rocks and big root at the bottom. My bike went left. I was wearing my wrist guards so no breaks. However, my left side, up and down, from calf and knee to tricep, bicep, shoulder and chest muscle all hyper-extended. No tears from what I gather, but I'm feeling it still. I took the day off, and just got down on the floor to make a phone call. That hurt a lot getting down and gettting up. At'll learn me! Riding is a blast, but crashing is not! I really hope I did not tear a muscle, especially my left chest muscle, but it hurts a lot. When I went over the bars on the descent, I put my hand down to brace, and as my lower half kept going over to land on my back left side, I must have stretch my entire left torso before I hit. Owww! ...------

Oh man, that sounds painful, like you could be sore for several weeks or more. Get well!
That looks like a doozy of a descent, and then trees everywhere.

Ouch, while MTB is safer due to no traffic, that is what I fear....you tend to fall more on the trail than on the road.
Heck, my hip still has a road rash mark from the fall on January 1 last year.
Hope you feel better....cold pool it is!

Isn't it! I want to get a full suspension bike before I get back into it, atleast before doing any kind of jumps, or going down stuff like that. For now, I think flat stuff and little rollers I'd be ok with. This coming from a guy who started racing enduros and cross countries on dirtbikes when he was 6, up till about 10 years ago lol...

My chest hurts worse 4 days later. I do wonder what damage I did.
I'm not a big fan of going to the doctor when I know I'll only hear rest, ice and taking it easy is the plan. I really hope it's just a big chest bruise, and not a tear. There is no discoloring at all where it hurts, but it hurts!
