Firetiger can definitely vary .... It's one of those patterns that I go for BRIGHT with as much contrast in the pattern as possible. On more natural lures I rarely use black, instead opting for dark greys or really dark greens, but on Firetiger I go black and contrasty.... What's your philosophy on Firetiger ? A couple of mine ....

Those are really really nice RS. Just the way I like to see them.

Thanks C Worthy !
The way I see it, if you're in stained water you want the fish to zero in on the brightest, most contrasty thing around.
A lot of companies seem to use more green than I do ...I like the sides to be yellow ... Not sure if that makes a difference....

Firetiger should be a very high contrast of colors that do not loose their color as much at the deeper depths where UV is very low. I think you nailed it. Only comment would be chartreuse keeps its color at greater depths because it is "NOT" a natural color. Yellow on the other hand is a natural color and begins to loose its color definition in the water column at some particular depth. Either way, I would throw those you have any day of the week.

I paint it without black. I don't have a photo of one handy though.

SWalker .... Yours seem to work great !!!
C Worthy - I hadn't thought about that regarding the yellow ... Of course these are shallow divers so it wouldn't matter, but from what you say it stands to reason that deeper divers would benefit from more chartreuse

It seems to work just fine. One thing I learned a long, looooong time ago. Never argue with what works..... try to understand why it works ..... but remember understanding why it works is not a prerequisite to it working. ...... So if it works.... just accept it and use it to your benefit.

I call this fire and ice. It's a similar pattern to my fire tiger. Fire tiger is green on top with a little black splatter, and no red splatter on the bottom.

my firetiger Sexytimes!!! Looks like you go for more green on top and less orange on bottom. Looks great ! Is that a handmade wood bait ? What are the details on it ?
