Just wondering if anyone is running one on a 18 to 19 ft boat. Top speed? Gas mileage? I'm thinking of re powering and replacing my 150 vmax 2 stroke to the bigger 4 stroke on my 2011 Zx 190? Any information is greatly appreciated.

How does the boat run with the 150? I have a 2007 ZX 190 with a 150 and mine runs great. Two people, live wells full, fuel tanks full and loaded with tackle and 60 mph all day long in the heat. A little faster in colder weather. If yours can do this then why change? You know the old saying "If it ain't broke don't fix it!!!

The BASSCAT sabre with 175sho ran very well. Although it is an inline motor and does seem slightly sluggish compared to v6 2strokes. Fuel mileage is amazing and quite smooth operation.

I run about 54 with just me 1/2 tank of fuel, I'm fine with the speed of my boat. Just wondering one day when it goes what would I do. I haven't messed with my set up or anything and I rarely run wide open. I baby my boat, I was just looking into better mpg and no 2 stroke oil. I just seen where the 150 sho gets 5 more mpg than the 150 vmax and was curious to what the 175 sho could do? I know the HPDI 175 will run low 60's.

I've got 2013 ZX 190 with the 175 HPDI. With just me on glass water I run about 62 mph. I've got no clue how someone with a 150 is running 60mph.

Except for gas caps the 2013 and 2012 are the same. I added a 8' Talon and lost maybe 1 mph. On a cold winter day I can regularly hit 65 with just me. Hit 67 once. This is with a 24 pitch Turbo TXP prop. Skeeter over propped this motor with a 25M1. The 175 has a higher RPM range than the 150 and really needs to be around a 23 pitch or 24 pitch to get the RPMs up. The HPDI has better hole shot and has the potential of more speed on colder days but the SHO fuel economy is better and will provide more consistent performance year round. I think Yamaha learned a lesson and kept this smaller version more traditional in materials to avoid some of the issues that plagued the early big SHOs. They have had 4 cylinder four strokes out for quite some time in the blue water market. They basically just took that reliable platform and re-tuned for the bass boat market. I love my HPDI and it still starts with the flick of the key but I wouldn't hesitate to replace it with a SHO should the need arise.

I've got 2013 ZX 190 with the 175 HPDI. With just me on glass water I run about 62 mph. I've got no clue how someone with a 150 is running 60mph. I bought this boat off of an individual. I am the second owner. The motor is a 150 VMAX (carburetor's). I ended up dropping the engine down about 4 inches to get the lift and to keep the prop wash down. It will jump out of the hole and accelerate with the best of them. I weigh about 270 and my partner is about 230. Like I mentioned in a previous post---set-up is everything. It took me about 7 runs on the water and 6 adjustments to get it the way I like it.

Not sure of your prop or set up but you should be a few mph faster. I can run my dad's zx 190 around 62 but that's all she has. That's with a worked 23m and he really needs a little more bite. Could probably get 65 with a little more prop work. That's with a vmax 150

I was just wondering about the 175 sho? I can't find a lot on Google. Thought someone may have one one here.

My 2000 ZX185 with a ox66 (fuel injected version) 150 runs 61.2 mph (yes gps) with a regular load of fishing junk. You might could use a bit more prop. I have a 25m prop and it runs right at 5500rpm. Now I've too often wondered how a 175 SHO would preform, but my first question would be... How much more total weight would it add?
