I read about that. Pretty good bump in performance.
My BIL bought a 2015 ecoboost with the aluminum body, crew cab 4x4 and the 3.31? gears. He has been really happy with it, said he gets up to 24 mpg on hwy trips at/around 60 mph.
FIL has a 2013 with zero complaints, I suspect he will be swapping his for a new one when they are out.

Saw a new F150 4x4 on I30 yesterday and swore I was looking at a 2wd when it was behind me. Ford has lowered the front end so much on a 4x4 that it is useless to me with the stock suspension. I guess we can blame the café standards. The air dam on the front bumper might scrape a the end of my driveway.

Stick an EcoBoost in a F250/350 and I'll think about it hard.

Stick an EcoBoost in a F250/350 and I'll think about it hard. They should, with those numbers it would beat the heck out of any of the big block gas offerings performance wise and I don't see how it could get worse mpg's. I haven't really heard of any longevity issues with them, but I'm sure every day commercial use would be a harsher test than what they are seeing now also.

Only thing that had me scratching my head was peak torque will be around 3500rpm? Sure it'll still have plenty of low-end but I'd like to see a dyno.

Wouldn't peak torque at those numbers be better while pulling? Been awhile since I've had a gas motor so I don't recall where they fall in the rpm range.

Would be nice to see them fall a little lower. Your 6.7 powerstroke make peak at something like 1,600 rpm. However forced induction motors typically have a much flatter torque curve than naturally aspirated motors, so the ecoboost very well may make 80-90% of its peak torque at a significantly lower rpm just doesn't reach its peak till 3500 rpm.

I was behind a high county GM the other day looking at like 4 or 6" blocks and thought about the ride and the carppy off road performance. Just as bad that cheap lift probably cost that dude $3k

Looks like a really nice update/upgrade for Ford. I'll be interested to see what the actual highway mpg are. That's one of the complaints of current EB owners is that the rated mpg versus what you actually get at 75 mph are vastly different.
