Probably a long shot but I will ask anyway. Looking for a guide recommendation out of Nags Head/Outer Banks North Carolina area. Just want a good day of fishing. I'm open to offshore or inshore. I'm not familiar with the area at all. I hate just picking a guide off of the internet with no recommendation from anyone. Any info would be appreciated.

Go to Organ Inlet Fishing center. They have a group of guides. We went out for a day trip last year. We went with Captain Bob. Nice boat.

I'd go offshore. NC still allows gill nets inshore, so the fishing there is not what it could be. Offshore should be good since you are close to the Gulf Stream.
Enjoy your trip!

I may be a little on the response but I would contact Captain Dave Lusk, his website is http://www.saltminded.com/ I have been a yearly visitor to the Outer Banks for 20 plus years and been on several charters and Dave is one of the best. He launches from the boat ramps near Pirates Cove and offers 1/2 day, 3/4 day, and full day charters. He will go out of the inlet in to the ocean a couple miles out. His reports show him bringing in a Mahi and Cobia lately. If conditions in the ocean aren't great he will take sound side for flounder and drum. Either way he does what he can to put you on the fish. If you want Tuna or Sailfish you will need to book a full day charter of Oregon Inlet to hit the gulfstream 60 miles offshore. Dave is friendly and knowledgeable and his rates are very reasonable. I have been out with him before and had a great experience. I was booked with him in June when I was in the OBX but weather blew us out/
