It seems like a lot of manufacturers don't make wakebaits, and I can't understand why not. There are definitely times when plastics or spinners are not working when I pull out a wakebait for a little different presentation. In fact, I'd wager that wakebaits generally outfish most of my other lures on a casts vs. catches level.
Am I missing something?

It is a fun way to fish. I have about twenty different models and makes. I don't catch that many fish with them , but I do catch a few from time to time.

Am I missing something? Are you talking about small wake baits or large swimbait type wake baits? Most of my wake baits are large baits.

Brad, your pm is full. Interested in the top wake bait and some of your deeper cranks.

That citrus blue translucent wake bait of Brad's brought my PB to the boat this year. Nothing like a bass that is pushing 13lbs hitting a wake bait.

I love the small wakebaits. In a tourney it's almost always good for a keeper or two. The only tourney I ever won was on an H2O wakebait. I usually don't wake them, but they are great when you want something that won't dive down into the grass or fishing a super shallow point early. Also schoolies.

Great post spawn bait around vegetation. Catch a lot of Trouts and Reds on them too.

Brad, those custom-painted wakebaits look amazing. Those appear to be painted on the blanks they sell on several Internet sites. If so, I will vouch for them being fish-catching machines. Also, the H2O wakebaits are great. I use them a ton in ponds where there is a lot of vegetation, and this past week I was in Navarre, Florida and caught several ladyfish on the H2O coastal wakebaits. This one in particular was quite hungry for the pinfish wakebait.
