I'm headed down to the Rockport Bay area and plan on chasing some specks and reds with my boat, but have never been down to that area before. I'm an experienced bass and fly angler but was looking for some helpful basic tips and techniques to help me out while I get started down there. Plan on using my 8 weight but also have spinning rods. Anyone have some fly/lure selection or patterns they wouldn't mind sharing? Thanks!

Shell reefs are just now starting to turn on - grass beds are still holding some trout with the some redfish action mixed in.
