If leol is starting out with jigs for beginners should he also be using a trailer? If so how does color matching of the jig need to be done?

Been looking around and came across Xcite. Would this jig be a good one to start with since they come with a trailer?

You can jig trailers or chunks for $2 at most places. Since you made this thread I bought some black and blue jigs with cheap trailers had two great bites ,but didnt set hook hard enough.

"Is that plastic trailer shoved onto the weed guard??"

No, it is designed after the first jig ever made and the plastic is the weed guard. A jig is the best bait to present everything a Bass is looking for that many other baits will only hold a few of these. Load it up with the right colors for your lake. Use living rubber and the right scent as rubber has better action and will hold scent longer. There is room for sound chambers. The trailer can be changed out to produce all the good things that that fish is looking for on any given day or season of the year. It is one of the best all time and year round baits to throw for sight, sound, vibration, movement and scent.

Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success.

I use the ends of my baby brush hogs after they get beat up on a texas rig as a trailer, they seem to work pretty well.
