I am looking at redoing my Bass Tracker floor this summer, hopefully. It has set-up for the last 10 years before I bought it. When I started walking on it and fishing the carpet started tearing. On top of that good news I have a soft spot in the bottom of the floor which I would like to fix.
Pics and advice are greatly appreciated.

Is it a metal floor? I have a 20ft SeaArch that had nasty glued carpet over the floor. I tore it all out, stripped off the carpet glue then painted the floor with a textured boat floor paint. It came out great.

Snake oil tin section? Metal floors do not get soft DonaldM. I have replaced several Tracker floors. They are easy because the wood is held down with screws. Remove the console. Get the new plywood cut, then coat the back side with resin. Coat top side after install. Get ready to replace the floatation once you get the old floor up. Good Luck

And don't cheap out by not using the resin or you will be doing it again in two years. Ask me how I know.

Be aware there is a good chance your wood stringers will be rotten where you have the soft spot. Take pictures once you have it opened up.

If you're gonna keep the boat for a long time, invest in Epoxy resin. I built my boat using MarineEpoxy from here: http://bateau2.com/ Not sure you can find it cheaper. Coat all surfaces with 2 coats, and any holes you drill for attachments. Any hole I drill gets filled with epoxy putty I mix up from resin and wood flour. No chance of any moisture getting to the plywood that way. Do that and it will never rot again. A little more money and time up front for never having to worry about it again.
