I have a '05 fx4 f-150 that I take off-road quite a bit, I figured a light bar would be nice to have just because of the extra light it would provide if it's dark out. My question is, what's the difference between name brand like KC, and the off brand stuff on eBay. I found a off brand on eBay for $65 the was the same wattage and description as some KC lights that were running $1200. I'm just wondering how much difference there is between brand to brand because theyre all led lights. If there is a difference, is it an $1100 difference.

I bought one from amazon last year for my duck boat. Plenty bright, waterproof and pretty rugged. I mounted rubber isolators between the boat and the brackets to minimize vibration. I ran it all last season and it worked flawlessly. It took a pounding, literally, and crashed through and into miles of brush. I promise it saw more severe duty than it ever would on top of a vehicle.

Thank you sir, I simply cannot justify spending $1200 on what is essentially a big LED flashlight That most likely $1200 simply because of brand recognition. I'll probably try out the cheap one.

Yeah not to mention having to worrry about someone stealing said $1200 light. At $65 you could buy 18 of those ebay lights. So even if it last a year youll come out way ahead!

I have one on each of my trucks(2015 Silverado, 2011 Suburban) both are mounted behind the grille, both put off a lot of light I cant believe I waited so long to get them. Mine are 30in eBay lights I got them for $75. I live on 10 acres and can see from one side to the other with the light on. I also put a 20in on my 4 wheeler, they are like Pringles to me, you cant have just one
Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst

If I was racing the Baja 500 at night I would spring for the best stuff.. Can't see spending that much for occasional "low risk" usage personally.
