not sure thee is an overall permit for EM, some of the marinas you can buy a pass, but it wont be cheap. If you are going to use the lake a lot it may make sense from an economics standpoint.

Mr. Biggs is correct as usual, don't leave the reeds. Unless they are out of the water, and even then, make a cast. If you think the water is to hot to fish shallow, do it anyway. I like to make a game plan, then do the exact opposite out there. I think it is fishing a little harder since the dredging, but it was never gangbusters anyway.

"A permit is required through the Parks and Wildlife Department. You may pick up a permit at the Casino Beach Mart (817-237-5101) located at 7601 Jacksboro Hwy. or at Navajo Burgers (817-237-9992) located at 7028 Navajo Trail. Information concerning a boat permit is not available on the Internet so you will need to contact their locations for details."

That's all the action I had while my buddy landed 2 dinks. I appreciate all of the suggestions, I'll definitely give them a try this weekend. I know Lake Worth isn't a popular lake, which is why the annual boat launch is so cheap. You just can't beat $20 for the year especially when it's $20 for 1 day at EM.

Shady Grove park has a free ramp. It's ok to use it when the lake is full like it is now. There are a bunch of no boat loading fools that use that ramp on the weekends though... you have to be patient !

What Buda13 said. I got mine from Navajo Burgers. The casino beach mart's hours say they open at 6 am but they were definitely not open when we went by there at 7 to get a boat permit. It's $15 for Fort Worth residents and $20 for non-residents for the calendar year.

You need your trailer license plate number to get a Lake Worth permit (good to know in case your not pulling your trailer when you get one).

In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

Am pretty sure there is a TPW advisory against eating fish from that lake.

Put 17 in th boat, biggest was 2lbs and lost another 6 or so at the boat. All dinks but still some action. ALL were crank baits thrown in the reeds. Took a senko rig but have zero confidence in it as I have never fished it, just could pick it up while the little woman was kicking my butt. Next time out I'm going to FORCE myself to use a senko only but it will be hard.

My biggest complaint is not being able to use the west dock to load up from the 2 or 3 guys that string out a dozen catfish rigs. I know it's petty but still hate beaching the boat to go get the truck. May have to look into using another ramp, not sure if the one under the bridge has the same problem.

Where on the lake are the "reeds"? I've never fished lake worth so I thought maybe someone can save me from having to run around the lake.

Reeds are from the dam to the river. The 820 arm has the best reeds, however the 199 arm has good reeds too.
