howdy from plano, so I picked up the Team Lew's Magnesium Pro friday and was wondering what would be the best rod pairing for this reel, thanks in advance.

If you let me borrow it for a few weeks, I'll try it on all my rods and let you know which one it works best with... just kiddin'.

I like Lew's reels and TFO rods and it depends on what you want to use it for, but the TFO Gary Loomis Tactical Cast Rod 7'3" Med Hvy would pair just fine with it.

What ratio and what do you want to use it for?

I have a 7.5:1 on one of my Steez MH 7'1". Use it for weightless senkos. And the very occasional spinner bait. Also have the left handed version on a Megabass Perfect Pitch for lighter jigs.

So far, I really like the reels casting. And the hook keeper is nice to have since most JDM rods have no keeper. Only negative is the knobs seem to have a angular edge to them. Not bad, just seems to cause a blister after 10 hours of constant casting/retrieving.

TFO Tactical. Either the 6'9" or the 7'3" depending on your preference.

A lot of versatility is that ratio.
I like a fast reel for plastics, traps, and squarebills.
A 7' MH fast or Extra Fast will be a great plastics combo.
The Kistler Magnesium 2 is a great rod. Very comfortable. Not a bad price either for the quality.
As light as the reel is pair it up with a light rod and you can cast all day and not get fatigued.

For the Magnesium 2, I think so. Gander Mountain sells the Argon line.
I own the Helium, KLX, Magnsium 2, Magnesium TS and Argon.
The Argon rods have a good feel too. For me, I really like the Winn Grip on the Mag 2.

I have mine attached to a Dobyns Champion Extreme 744 split grip. If you can wait until Memorial Day weekend Tacklewarehouse normally has a 15% off and Dobyns are not excluded from the sale.
