What rod and reel combo do you like the best between Shimano and Daiwa?

Alderberan reel or Metanium. From Shimano. Don't really care for their rods.

Diawa? Hmmmm. Any of their reels from the Zillion to the Steez. The rods they make are all great. I have tatulas, zillions, Steezs. They are good rods. I have some Megabass and Caras and I prefer my Diawa rods to all of them.

On a side note....id like to try a jackell.

A Shimano Aldabaran on a G.Loomis NRX.
A Daiwa Steez rod and reel.

Both of those are killer combos.

agree, but too expensive for me. I am fine with a shimano curado and just about any high modulus $100 rod.

I have some expensive rods and they are better than a $100 rod but not by $500+- each
