DD Crank, c-rig, football jig. Also like a 6-7" Basstrix on a 3/4 -1 1/4oz. jig head. I used to throw a flutter spoon a bunch but these days it's hard to keep the sand bass off of it.

I typically fish offshore humps, points, rockpiles, and brushpiles. Strike King 6XD My number one go-to for deep water is the 6XD. It's a great search tool to find those fish that are bunched up offshore. They get down quick and they stay down. They have quality components and it's just a proven winner. Santone M Series Football Jig When the sun gets high and the fishing slows, I slow down with a football jig. It's great for crawling over rocks and imitates a crawfish really well. This is the best football jig on the market if you ask me, and they're made right here in Texas!

C-rig, DD crank baits, flutter spoon, big worm, drop- shot, big shakey head and swim bait all work great but my favorite is when they are chomping a Santone Football Jig. Fouz is right though on the flutter spoon and the sand bass but sometimes you can weed through the sand bass and catch a toad or 2.

My favorite is the one that's working on a given day or more like a given hour.
Big crankbait, Football jig, Skaky head, C-rig, T-rig, Drop shot, Swimbait, Spoon and a Topwater bait are in the rotation and most get called on at some point during the day. This ^^^^plus an A-rig

Big worm on standup shakeyhead if they are not active. Big crankbait if they are.

I always have a C-rig ready to throw, summer or not.
I love throwing a football in the summertime, strollin with deep cranks is always fun, and usually productive.
Deep swimbaits is awesome as well, not as many bites, but typically better bites/better fish.
I'm not afraid to sneak in shallow and toss a T-rig, but have been fortunate enough to fish with some guys who are strong deep water fishermen, and I've been trying to fine tune those tactics.

This is what I throw, too. They ALL come into play at some point or another. GREAT WAY TO FISH. I DO LOVE the big CBs, though. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck. Thad Rains
