I'm new to this forum and am looking for some advice. I am an avid freshwater fishermen and do my fair share of saltwater fishing in Matagorda to. I want to start wade fishing Galveston with some buddies. We have made 2 trips and have come back empty handed both times. I do not have access to a boat so I am wondering if anyone could tell me where some walk in wade spots are and what kind of lures/bait we should use. Any tips/pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The surf would be my suggestion. When you catch it on a calm day with green water to the beach it can be fantastic. The flats behind rollover Pass is good, San Luis Pass is good, but the current can be treacherous, people drown there every year. The Bolivar Pocket is a great walk in spot.
The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.

What kind of bait would you recommend. Live or artificial. If artificial what kind, sand ell jrs, Texas trout killers?
