I feel like my boat gets up to top speed really quick and there isnt much speed difference in cruising speed vs full throttle, other than rpm's going higher.

Do I need a different prop?

mine says 12 x 22, 1.83:1

Contact steve@scp on here, he was great help in making sure I had a suitable pitch and setting up the correct prop to pad on my boat.

If you are reading the white sticker on the lower unit, that means nothing. I went in to B&B and asked for that number and he laughed and said did you get that number off the lower unit, i said yes, he laughed. My prop had 10.38X14p on the prop and it,s a 2009,50hp.

You prop dimensions will be on the prop itself. You can find them between the blades, just under the nut or on the thrust washer side that faces the motor. The 2 spots I mentioned last you will have to remove the prop to read. Get those numbers and give me a shout so we can figure out what is going on.

If it's not a bigfoot motor then a 14" pitch is borderline over propped. Depends on overall boat weight.
I could run a 14" pitch on my old bass tracker pt175 with 50 ELPTO but suffered on hole shot and rpm maxed at 5100 and 32mph . The 12" pitch worked best all around. Good hole shot and 34mph at 5600rpm with just me in the boat. 32mph with 2 people.

Im getting over 30mph right now...32ish by myself. So I guess I am close.

Its an aluminum Xpress boat...all metal, no wood. So I am assuming its pretty light.

Check your rpm at WOT. If it is at or below 5200 then you could go down an inch or two in pitch an gain some performance. A 2 stroke motor will love the added rpm. The perfect WOT rpm on plane light load should be 5500-5600. You won't hurt the motor by running 5000 or above but below 5000 at WOT you will be lugging it and that ain't good for a 2 stroke. IMO 5400-5500 rpm would be perfect loaded.
