I have never fished this lake and have been asked by someone special to me to take them fishing there. They like to brim fish, so I am looking for information to help me be a good host.
PM me with information/contact and I'll get back to you with specifics.
Thanks,
HPJ

I don't know anything about this lake but just hit along the shorelines looking for structure that is around 5-8 ft deep. Worms would be the go to bait fishing off the bottom and using bobbers with small hooks (#6 size). If you don't get a bite after 5 to 10 minutes move down the line and find a new spot.

Houston area got a ton of rain. I do not know when you plan to fish there. Judging by the amount of rain that area got I would wait a few weeks before fishing anywhere in that area. Just my two cents. Side Note: Never fished that lake before. Right now the sunfish are active. Look for them in 5 to 10 feet of water holding by tree overhangs, reed beds, and docks. Good luck. Hope you have a great trip.

Thanks banker!!
I live in the Houston area and, yes we got a LOT of rain. However, I'm looking for info about bream fishing at Houston County Lake in the Crockett, TX area. They received rain too, but not to the extent of the city of Houston.
Looking for someone who is familiar with the lake to point out some general locations to start looking for bream, rather than start blind.

Lakes I usually fish for the first time I always go by the basic patterns of the fish during the time I fish the lake. Fall, winter, spring, and summer fish will have their basic patterns. It is great having first hand current information on fish location but in case you do not get that information go with the basic patterns. You can always find spots that look good that fit into the fishes basic patterns and habits.
Side Note: You can also get some good information by talking with the locals who live or work by the lake who fish there also. Good luck and hopefully some anglers who have fished Houston County Lake will respond with some first hand information.

I think that's what he is trying to do. This time of year, the back bays and sunbathed backwaters are gonna be your best bet. Main lake and secondary points will hold fish all year long. Look for the right structure in 8' of water and also 45 degree banks. Those are your best bets to find fish on the main lake.

Thanks Jagg!
Yes, you are right. I was hoping to get a local or two to help me with a starting place. That's why I offered the PM as a way to discuss. I know how sensitive it is to disclose specifics on an open forum.
Appreciate the reply!!
