We are starting the AH Working Man's T back up on Friday, April 15th. $20 entry fee with an optional $5 big bass pot. Individual T with a 70%/30% payout to 1rst and 2nd. 3 fish limit, to if you keep 3, one must be 18" long. There is no minimum length limit on the other 2. Fish from 6:30PM to 10:30PM with your fish in hand on the dock (weigh in station) by 10:30. If you want more information, feel free to e-mail me at thadrains@aol.com or call at 806-786-3766. I will be at the top of the ramp around 5:30 to answer questions and take entry fees. We look forward to seeing you. We fish 2 Fridays a month, next one will be on April 29th. They are listed in the calendar section on the TFF. WE revert to our normal schedule in May, 1rst and 3rd Fridays of the month. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

I have had quite a few inquiries and it seems like a lot of people want to fish this, even some coming from Seminole and Brownwood, NOT Brownfield, but Brownwood. So hopefully, we can catch some good fish. Tight line, keep safe and good luck.

Thad Rains If you drove from Brownwood and won, could you even recoup your gas money on a $20 entry fee?

Depends on how many people enter. Biggest payday we had was when 32 anglers entered. Big fish and 70% winner won over $540. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

We only had 9 fish the beginning T. The wind scared everyone off, blowing 25+ with gusts up over 40, I guess. That is what the weatherman said, anyway. First place came from the back of the boat. Erioc Pender, had 3 fish for 6-12, with a big fish of 2-13. 2nd place was his boater, Bodie Landes (I think) with 5-12, big fish of 2-8. We had 4 lmb caught and we turned all of them back. Probably from the same gene pool as a 2-9 and 2 2-8's and 1 2-6 were weighed. The winner said jerkbaits off of points and pockets. I caught 3 on a shaky head (blue fleck 7" worm. I had the 2-6 lmb. A good time was had by all and 2 teams came from NM to fish this T. They say they are coming back. Everyone was new to the T, except Bodie and I. Mr. Forther brought his 5 y/o son out to fish and he caught 3 fish, none over 18", but they still had a good time. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Why don't you make this a team tournament?

Yup. Always get a kick out of these guys worrying about "making money". If that's what you're worried about sale your boat and stare at your walls day. I saw a pic floating around with 2 11s caught in a tourney. Was that recently?

2 weekends ago, there were some T's on AH and there were 4 10's, 5 11's and 2 12's caught on the same weekend. So yeah, it was probably recently. And I wholeheartedly agree with people trying to make $$$$ from a working man's T. More than likely, a local may beat you anyway. It is for the fun and comraderie.
kevfish, because it is easier on me to keep it individual. Withh the opportunity of having 6 fish, with 2 overs or 4 fish, with no overs, or 4 fish with 1 or 2 overs, makes it more difficult to keep track of things. And, looking at past years, we fish more odd people tournaments than even number tournaments. At least now, aan odd # does not feel with weight of having to catch 3 overs to win against a possibility of 6 with 2 overs. Too many variables. We would not have ANY odd number variables fishing against a team T. And, I do not want to penalize an angler by making him pay $30 to fish alone. Makes it easier on everyone the way it is now. Get my drift on the overs/unders and the possiblity of having 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 overs on a team and an individual possiblity of having 1, 2 or 3 overs. Hope this helps explain why it is not a Team tournament. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

PS, I forgot to say that the city of Lubbock is the one that set the 3 fish limit, NOT ME. We have to abide by their rules or they will pull the permit to have them.
