Bass are starting to bed. Fish pockets and side of pockets. Fishing is good up the river also. Water a little stained but that can be good for Broken Bow. Seen bass chasing shad up the river and even knocking them up on the bank. See deercrkretreat.com for cabin. Been catching them on worm, shakey head, jerk bait and fluke. Spinnerbait if there is wind.

The Wife and i are going to Broken Bow on Friday. We are staying at the Lakeview Lodge. Last time we were in the area was 7-2011. We will bring my bass boat. We would like to catch a few fish. I think clearer water, lighter lines, mono.
Last time was so hot. We drove around the lake in July. My wife got heat stroke. Never fished. We went below the dam and layed down in the cool stream. I caught one trout.

You can camp at Carson Creek. They have electric and water about 100 yards from the water.

We had a great time at Broken Bow. Friday we were on the water by noon. I caught 9 small bass up north part of the lake. I used a darker color Gary Yamamoto senko that had a paddle tail. I fished for about 3 hours. Lakeview lodge was great and we recommend it. Dinner was at Abendigos. That was the best meal my wife and I had in about a year. Great food. Excellent. Check it out
Saturday they had a Kayak tournament out of Lakeview Lodge. Beavers bend Kayak Classic. I was told the winning fish was 23 inches.
Saturday was mist and light rain we fished below the dam and I caught one trout. We loved the area and the beautiful lake. Saturday - we ate at Moon Tower bar. The food was really good.
