So I am thinking of getting 1 of these the Navionics chip seems to be way more detailed. Am I missing something or is it just that much better?

Lakemaster has some neat features but for Texas Navionics has the better detail. Navionics shows flooded timber, submerged roads, culvert and a lot better mapping.

Navionics has more detail for many lakes. Lakemaster will allow you to set your lake level to the current lake level plus it will work with Terrova and Ulterra TMs. I need Lakemaster for my ilink and like it's features. I plan on buying a second card so that I have the best of both worlds.

Not to sound like a broken record, but you can easily check out all of the available mapping from Navionics before spending any money to make sure it is the best for you. Check out the webapp, it is the most current mapping available. Just zoom in to the map and toggle the button to the bottom left to see the sonar chart layer.
