Hey guys, gonna be out on Canyon Lake with my kayak for a couple days next week, was wondering if anyone was having any luck with the bass out there more towards the north side of the lake around the potters creek/ mystic shores area and such.

I grew up in Canyon Lake so I have an idea of what to look for and such but it's been about 4 years since I really fished it and was just asking for some tips cause this will be my last fishing adventure for awhile due to me leaving for Air Force basic training on April, 19th and I'd like to catch some fish.

Thanks,

Kevin

I haven't been out there in a few weeks but I fished the TTZ tournament with little luck. Last Fall and up to a few months ago, it was on fire. A fellow angler I know caught 24 lbs in a little Sunday tournament a few weeks back. Ever since then it's been a bust! I'd suggest you stay in the Potters Creek area since you're in a kayak. The fish should be all around that area anyway. As far as baits go, a 6 or 7 inch curly tail worm in blue fleck is the bait to be throwing. A small jig with a small trailer works well. If you want to fish all the brush and stuff, throw a spinnerbait or a small squarebill. Don't forget your senkos!

Thank you for your service!

Blue fleck power worm you say? Are you David Jara? I know we know each other who ever you are.

Good advice by the way. You could also try flipping the big hard wood trees. They arent on them all the time, but when they are, it can be good.

Here's a spot where you might pick up 1 or 2. The point where the Mystic Shores park sits has some isolated stick ups on south side about even with the tennis courts. Try weightless flukes/wacky worms/or regular worm with weight.
Thanks for your future service, spent 25 years doing that, hope it's as much benefit to you as it was for me, remember the drone business is wide open I hear.

Thanks guys. That point my the mystic shores is actually my go to spot, both sides of the point, mostly the one with more trees and the concrete. What time of the day y'all thinking would be best? I planned on going early morning..

The earlier the better. Especially since you're in a kayak!
