I am trying to put a shallow water anchor system on my boat. One that is just temp and not permanent. I was wondering what you guys use and have done. Want to see some pics if possible just dont want to spent alot of money. Thanks for the help.
The gene pool could use a little chlorine.

There are a few places that sell fiberglass rods for this. Get two of them and tie a piece of rope into a double loop. Put one on a front clear and one on a rear. Stick the rod thru it and knock it into the ground. Some guys use 3/4" conduit in place of the fiberglass.

Ok thanks I was not sure if people used rope or they used some kind of holder to slide it in

There are some holders you can get, just google" Stic it anchor" and you will see.

I use a 10' closet dowel. Plasti-dtipped about 2' of one end, put a point on the other, and rubbed the whole thing down good with vegetable oil. I still use an anchor up front, but pin the back to avoid turning on the anchor in slick water.
One thing I've learned, the rope or whatever you use needs to be able to slide up and down the pin easily or any wave action will pluck it out of the bottom right quick.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space!

1 1/2 PVC about 12 inches long. Hose clamp a metal ring to the top third of it. Tie rope to ring and tie it to cleat. Slide pipe thru it and hammer it down into the mud.

Drilled a hole in my swim platform and installed a 2"tub drain in the hole. I have a 10' pc of galv. rigid conduit 3/4" that I shove down threw the hole. I will try to take a pic this evening.
Catch and release into the grease!

I use a piece of rope with a 2" ring tied to it on my cleat and a 12' piece of 3/4" galv conduit, that I jammed/glued a 3" piece of dowel rod in either end to keep it from filling up with mud and also to hopefully help it float if it gets away from me

I bought the Dig In shallow water anchor setup. back bracket mounts on one side of the motor using the existing motor mount; the bow bracket mounts up front and I only use it during the spring. my poles lay down the side of my ranger rt188. works great without the weight and cost of a talon or power pole.
