You know I've had someone tell me that before. Caught a bunch of bluegill size ones that would've been big enough to eat. I may have to try that next time I get into them.

Oh well I took the 3wt today so even though they are small they are feisty LOL.did manage a few Sandbass and a whole bunch of little yellow Piranas! Still managed to have a creek all to my self that is nice on its own.

Been staying south this year for the most part. north wasn't good enough to justify the chance of getting stuck in an all out traffic jam LOL. I would really like to go try Lakefork this year for Sandbass we seem to have enough water for them to actually go up in the creeps instead of spotting on Windy point. It's a real shame they got in there to begin with I wish Texas Parks and wildlife would take the limits off of them there. That is and was always meant to be just a great bass Lake kill it got invaded from the pipeline.

I have feelers all over its been good everywhere to a point you just pick the most convenient route. With so much water there have been runs in creeks that normally don't even have runs and also stretches of Rivers that never get runs that had fish up as far as this year. I'm hoping for just under gully washer stage on this rain coming in! Going to really give us that last shot in the arm of the run for the year.

Well well well today was rediculas! I have been fishing to split shot so it is hard to roll cast. I was trying to make a rapid fire roll cast one fish hit the split shot another one hit the clouser skipping across the top of the water. So then we tie on a popper it was about a three pop maximum cast before it was inhaled and that was because the first two pops where missed fish. Between three of us today there was a long stretch every person was either hooked up or unhooking. It was down right silly. We would get bored catching them back to back to back to back so we change it up. Then fish were caught on black woollies Olive Willys whit we would get bored catching them back to back to back to back so we change it up. Then fish were caught on black Wooly's, Olive wooly's,white Wooly's,black and white, all white, artic fox, yellow and white, and the proverbial chartreuse and white clousers. If I had a friend on the river with me today that was like I don't know if I can fly fish I would just have told them flail the rod around back-and-forth and try to get the fly in the river if you get it in the river you're set! Wow!! I didn't get my phone out of the dry box today in my backpack and I did nottake my go Pro it was kind of scene one Sandbass seen them all type of thing today it was crazy. Managed to get off the water just before the storm

I have fished with Robert for many years.
What he says about the fish he does catch you can 100% believe him.I have seen him many times catch a fish, one after the other, after the other, when not one person was catching fish..Big Black Bass, white bass, hybrids all BIG and very few small ones.A white/Chartreuse Clouser with a 4wt fly rod..If I was not there -I would not have believed him..Now after many years of seeing him repeatedly do this I am a firm believer. If he said he did this or did not do it..I believe him.He has NEVER lied to me or many other people. 2cents

I've seen it first hand myself and know he is nothing but honest. As much as I hate to admit it, grasshopper has mad skills with a fly rod.

The run has come to and end down here on the Yegua. Only a few stragglers remain. There are plenty of lmb, sunfish and crappie in the creeks though.

Ron when wast deep in the water and phone burried in pack it's a pain in the butt to take pics. Not worth it unless you pull up a Sabine size sandbass. Jesse10 on them same spot todaylmb, sunfish and crappie in the creeks though.

I hear he is wearing them out too when they get like that it's easier to just crimp the barb down to aid in release time. Loose a few fish but not many.

Never said anything about whether Robert is telling the truth or not , I just asked where's those pictures ? I like seeing what catch anyone has for the day . I don't get to fish often in the year but I love seeing those picts ! So don't go getting the wrong opinion and upset over what I said in my post . I just figure is it's Sand bass thread it should have lots' of picts !

I wish I would have charged my go pro it's ready to go today at least. It's so much easier s it's water proof. Phone would have been a pain yesterday as we were a good ways out in the river and it was in a dry box in the back pack. The go pro takes exelent still shots as well as video
