Hi, I just moved to the area and haven't done any serious warm water fishing in quite some time. I was thinking about checking this place out today. Any quick tips for a newb? I'm not looking for super secret tips, just want to pull in a couple fish. Thanks.

My suggestion would be to show up and leave the gear in the car. Just go and watch. Once you think you have it figured out, sit longer and watch. Trying to show up with gear the first time you fish this area will just litter the bottom with broken line and hooks. Just go to learn and study what the experienced bankers are doing. Once you experience being a spectator, then come back with your gear. Just my 2 cents.

I go below to fly fish and it is funny to catch them close to where you are standing instead of way out there.

Moon makes pretty good weighted bobbers, they cast well and catch big fish. I know I had fished next to him and I had caught dozens big hybrids with those bobbers. thumb

Why do I go fishing? To catch a box of fish and/or some quality time under the sun. Thank Heaven I never fail fishing in Texas, catching box fish or plenty of sunburn.
