Me and my dad hit up Athens on Saturday to see what the gills were doing. We arrived about 7:30 but we had to wait until the bait shop opened up at 8:30 before we could target the gills. Next time I'm bringing the crickets...
We found them in 10-15' range hugging the bottom using 1/64 unpainted jigs and crickets. The hit was lite with most but some were trying to pull your rod in. We put about 20 in the cooler and called it a day at 1:00.
Females had eggs so I'm guessing the bite will really start to heat up in a week or two.

Awesome report BCasper! The bite is only going to get better! Good job between you and your dad on putting some nice ones on ice!

Went friday and we caught some hogs! Met up with WacoKid to do some recon and we found them, numbers weren't like full spawn yet but we did get some really good fish!
