I haven't been fishing in many many years. I'm going to start taking my father fishing again around Rockport, TX. Can anyone recommend me a decently priced fishing rod/reel that will holdup against Black Drums? Can spend around $120 for each rod/reel. Any help will be greatly appreciate. Thank you

Casting or spinning?

As far as rods I'd say the shimano convergence wouldn't be bad, also the no.8 blackout, or the Abu Garcia veritas.
Those rods aren't too bad on the pocket book

Cabelas Salt Striker on a 10' ProAngler Rod or Meat Hunter rod.

Haven't been fishing in years so I'm not sure the differences in reels I should use. Thank you Big and Mitch for the info.
