I have a 24 foot Carolina skiff with a Suzuki DF 150 on it. Have been running it for a little less than a year. Pretty much no matter how the boat is loaded you have to trim the motor all the way down to get on plane and to keep it their even after getting on plane other wise it wants to what I'm going to call blow out.

I know it has a 4 blade stainless power tech prop on it, will have to check diameter and pitch. What would be the correct mounting point for this style of boat as far as how far the prop shaft should be below the transom?

What are other issues with setup that may cause this issue?

Thanks,

matt

On your boat I would set the prop shaft at 3.5 inches below the boat to start with. Another thing you want to look at or have looked at is the prop itself. Make sure it has good cup in it and that the blades arent laid back or bent back. Most of the time you want to have a prop guy look at that part for you. Keep in mind, a little bit of blowout is ok and youo should always take off with the motor trimmed all the way down. With the motor tucked under all the way it will push the bow down to pop the boat up on plane.

Right, Im used to trimming down to take off, but even after taking off you cant trim up at all, doesn't seem right to me.
