I am relatively new to fishing and want to learn more about the fundamentals of bass fishing. I fished last weekend on Lake Holbrook Saturday and Sunday and only caught two (one keeper) on Saturday. I threw Texas rig, red spinnerbait, red lipless crankbait and white chatterbait. The water was around 60 to 65 degrees the hole time and I fished between 2' to 8' deep all around the lake.
Any advice on what to do when they just aren't biting would be really helpful.

So many factors... Two things that are always worth a try are down size your baits and slow down your presentation -- slow WAY down to a crawl.

Maybe try a wacky rig senko or shaky head finesse worm. Great rigs if your new and when fishing is tough And when you catch one slow down and work that area real good.

I fished Holbrook Saturday morning and caught 5. All on purple T-rig worm, two just over 2 lbs and one 3.7. We went Sunday and the wind was blowing really bad. Only caught one less than a lb. I always have good luck by the culvert by CR 2260. Hope this helps

You need to mix it up more. So many variables will make the fish do different things throughout the day.
In the the spring and the water is warming up during the day I always go shallower. You may be able to use the same presentations but you if the sun is shinning I'd try to flip more.
And congrats for getting into the most confusing wonderful and most aggravating sport known man. Enjoy!
