...and it took about 20 minutes to wear him out, so I could retrieve my lure back. 4lb test line and got him right through the top fin!

Bet you thought you hooked a monster bass at first! Rooster tails are a great lure I wasn't sure what it was for the first 10 minutes. He kept pulling my line out everytime I got him close. Then he finally floated sideways and I saw I had snagged him. Took another 10 minutes of wearing him out to finally beach him.

I let him go, he's still there maybe. Looked like he took some damage tunneling through the dam at Lavon when it was pouring out, or maybe those are fat sores from sitting on the bottom so long? I heard they are okay to eat (oily) and nice white meat, but those scales were the size of half dollars and I would have made a huge bloody mess. Fish that big always scare me that I'll find worms or something in the meat. He was fun to land though, much harder since I snagged him I'm sure, but I'd love to do it again in a heartbeat!

You should have taken a picture with the fish like a true carper and posed in a very provocative position with the fish

By the way, that is my size 12 Nike beside him. He made my feet look midget sized.
