I'm planning on taking a trip to Tawakoni state park on Saturday and I was wondering if someone could give me some tips on bank fishing in the state park area, or give me a current report on if catfish are biting near the bank.

Not a lot to say about it other than don't fish in the area of the boat ramps. There are a lot of people that fish the point north of the ramp cove and seem to do well there.

You should be able to catch some off the bank. Shad are in my cove in 5 feet or less of water. Try getting a breeze in your face off the bank...

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

I've done well fishing the cove and the point next to the swim beach. Especially if you can catch the wind blowing in on the point.

SoonerDG is there any specific type of bait you like to use when you fish those areas?
