The biggest, frailest rip off known to man. I've tried Palomar , San diego jam , modified San diego jam , bla bla knot etc and all break under the slightest pressure. Threw away all fluoro and went back to mono and dam near pulled a tree out of the water today TWICE. Big game is all I will use from now on. Braid sucks too unless you enjoy not being able to cover as much water and eating grooves into you guides. I have A $30 spool and a half a spool of sniper fc that I will trade someone for 2 $5 spools of big game.

Fluorocarbon is good line. You are doing something wrong. Many others including myself have no problem with fluorocarbon line.

Fluorocarbon has less stretch, so laying into a hook set is not necessary. Wetting the line is imperative before cinching down the knot. You also have to make sure you eliminate line crossover. This is where properly tying the knot comes in. Forget trying to tie a San Diego and modified San Diego until you learn to tie a Palomar knot to perfection. Then you'll be ready to use fluorocarbon line. See link below. http://www.animatedknots.com/palomar/ind...com#ScrollPoint

Been using Seagaur InvisX for years. Never had a problem. Ever. But.... I don't backlash and I know how to tie a knot.
Just sayin.

Steez can you tie the triple lindy with your eyes closed? nope. I can cut and retie a crank one handed in less that 20 seconds though. And that's what matters. Haha

You are definitely doing something wrong, as others have said, this assuming you are not using some off-brand fluorocarbon.
I have use all three of the popular junction knots between braid and fluorocarbon: FG, Uni to Uni and Albright (depends on circumstances) . . . none have ever failed at a greater rate than using mono as a leader material.
And, Palomars, Unis and San Diego Jams . . . none have failed tying to terminal tackle . . . at a greater rate than tied to mono.
Here's the primary evidence that it is likely you, not the material: the Pros depend on landing fish to make a living and they use braid and fluorocarbon when it is called for. If they were experiencing your issues, they'd be using monofilament. I suppose a few are; the great majority are not.
Points of agreement:
I do think the advantage is rather modest using fluorocarbon over the really good modern, low stretch monofilaments . . . but it is definitely there.
I think unless you really buy a top line, fluorocarbon is more difficult to use as a primary line for many people (casting, and other issues.)
Unless you sit down, perhaps at a bass club, have someone review what you are doing, that reverting to monofilament is likely a good strategy for you.
