Has anyone ever been to Tejas Park in Georgetown? I may go this weekend but would like to know if its worth it and if so what are they biting on? ( lures-colors or minnows) Also where could I go to find more information on it.
Thank you in advance for helping a rookie out

I haven't been there since September, so the water level has gone up a bit since then, but I would imagine you would still have a half mile to a mile of walking from Tejas to get to the lake.
There's some reasonably pretty hillcountry creekbed between the camp and the lake if you're into fly-fishing small perch in small pools. The lake itself has a bad reputation for being fishless and insofar as it has a whitebass run it's said to be a week later than everywhere else.
If you've got a boat you should launch from the lake itself and work some of the fish attractors they sunk out there. There's GPS locations for them somewhere on the web.

I saw on another site (pictures) of limits being taken from Tejas I don't bank fish because I always end up with poison ivy - so I don't know exactly where or what they are using. As for Lake Gtown - I have never had a problem catching lots of fish in a lake known as the dead sea

Went last Saturday and it was slow. People were catching a couple but nothing too crazy yet.
