I've been trying to catch fish on a jerkbait for the past couple of trips. I have a Rogue Perfect 10 bait that I bought a few years ago, but have never used. I don't remember why I bought this bait, have forgotten. Have any of you fished with one? If so, I would be interested in knowing what you think about it. Thanks.

Threw a Rapala Shadow Rap Deep today......I AM HOOKED!!! I probably won't touch the rest of my jerkbaits after the day I just had with it.

I have fished a Rogue a lot this time of year with some OK success and was probably one of the most productive lures I've tied on for these conditions. I had the best luck with it fishing on bluebird days in about 7 feet of water or less just basically dead sticking it and twitching it every once in a while. I learned this method from digging out backlash

for whatever its worth i totally agree with this guy - bright and shiny and "jerk" it and let it sit on occasion when the water is cold - have caught LMBs, hybrids, and sand bass ...

+1 on the Shadow Rap.
And +1 on the fact that I seem to catch more fish once I start screwing around with something in the boat or taking a leak and quit trying to "fish" my lure.

The Rogue is deadly when you put it beside any grass beds. We use to wack them on Amistad back in the day.

Man that brings back memories of when I was a kid fishing Toledo bend...usually from the bank. This "old timer" gave me a gold rogue and showed me how to cast, slowly sweep my rod to the side, reel down...then stop and let it sit for about 20 or 30 seconds. I can't count the,3 and 4lb bass I caught on that thing,Only worked from mid February thought march then it was over.At the time I didn't realize he had modified it with more weight to make it suspend. That was the trick.

This is something I've seen quite a few old timers do around rayburn and toledo with a rogue. When the fish move up shallow they will take a rogue with an orange belly and toss it out around old lilly pads or stumps, grass, whatever. Places you wouldn't fish treble hooks. Don't reel it. They just twitch it on top almost sitting still then move it a little bit and do it again. There have been some monsters caught doing it but I don't have the patience for it.

So what color shadow Rap would y'all recomend for a dark murky lake? I'd like to try one.
