If our bass could have 3lbs of trout in their tummy, we could kill it.
I think it's interesting that Gary Shwartz is trying to use crawfish (basically) as a high protein food source. I wonder if we can stock crawfish in our lakes to increase the population for high protein food.

I have no doubt that there are bass in Texas and California that have the potential at the right time to be a world record, but I think that the odds are slim one will be caught on the right day at the right time. It would take a lot of variables all lining up perfectly to occur. A fish that has the potential to be that big could be several pounds shy if it was caught a week early or a week late. An 18 pounder that just ate a 5 pounder could be caught and certified, but only for a few hours or maybe a day. Lots of luck involved in every thing lining up!

I'm not sure about a record but with all the high water from last spring and this spring.. The Spawns are going to be amazing and in 2 to 3 years from now.. Texas Bass Fishing is going to be on fire..

As some have mentioned, there are too many bass in most lakes to allow those trophy sized fish. Catch and release is great for numbers of fish, but leaves less forage per bass. A 'great spawn' isn't necessarily a good thing
