[quote=epicoutdoors]Yes, both require a lot of luck! I have 80+ DD's and 0 HIO's and I do a lot of fishing and golfing. Been all over it and lipped out a couple but haven't had one fall in....yet!

Been fishing since I was 6 years old... So 28 years now and I still haven't put a DD in the boat... Been close many times with 8's and 9's, but 80+ that blows my mind! Where you fishing and when we going? I play golf for the cold beer and relaxation... I'll never hit a hole in one unless I aim the opposite direction!

I've had numerous DDs but no aces. Used to fish a lot but am now retired and play golf 4-5 days a week. An ace would be nice but the folks in my group would all order teen age single malt on my tab.

Some people go to church and think about fishing. Some go fishing and think about God.

I've got 3 aces, 0 DDs. I'd trade all 3 aces for the one DD, no question, any day. I've caught so many 9s I've lost count, and I can't break 9lbs 12oz.

Some day, it'll happen.

I have holed out on a par four but no aces.
I'll take the DDs all day.

GROD, It took me 20 yrs to catch a DD so don't give up! I was just fishing....not trying to catch a big one, just got lucky on Sam Rayburn! Also, I've never made a hole in one....came within 6 inches one time....don't play anymore, just fish.

I've hit a hole in one, and netted a double digit before. The double digit fish was a much better experience and a better story.
DD!

It would depend on who was with me. Will take either one that happens.

I have a hole in one but no DD. Would definitely trade the the hole in one for the DD. I feel like 2016 is finally going to be my year for the DD. Current PB is 9.10 Richland Chambers.

Since I have had 8 hole in ones and zero DDs I would take the DD.
Neither is "luck". Both take skill. Obviously I am a better golfer (was) than fisherman. That is why I am so anal about this fish catching thing. If you can learn one skill you should be able to learn something else just as well.
