I snagged this in home lake I have fished for 25 years. Never saw one like it. I asked in the rough fish section but thought it might get more looks here. I guessed it about 5 lbs.

Looks like a slimmy shad, I've caught several almost that big ripping a trap at Konawa.

Are you guys sure that's a gizzard shad? I don't think their scales look that big even at that size. . .

Was it slimmy, all the big shad that I've snagged were real slimmy, like a catfish.

Not a Shad. Searched them all. Silver Carp. is close, but can't see the eye on this fish close enough.

Could be a shiner but it's shaped like a shad.

It's a Texas Annihilator - a new species developed by TPWD to eradicate all living matter (vegetation, other fish, turtles, frogs, crayfish, etc.) from any body of water in which it lives.

I don't know what kind of fish it is but it just layed a lipless crankbait. Take it home, put it in an aquarium, and check it for more crankbaits every morning.

Looks like some weird cross between a buffalo and a German carp . Definitely not a Shad, lol. I've caught several grass carp on Conroe on crankbaits/worms/jigs. No, I did not snag them, they ate it whole. Crazy.
