I got a couple good screen shots today while drifting. First shot is when the boat first passes over a couple suspended fish. The lines at the bottom of the screen are my baits dragging.

Second shot is the fish moving down to my baits. I set my coffee down at this time.

Next shot is the fish taking the bait and starting to get pulled up. The lines are much more faint since it was on the edge of the sonar's cone.

Had two rods go down, but one came unbuttoned. This little fattie was not as lucky.

How did your 2D sonar capture your baits? Did you have them straight down?

I alternate my baits since I normally drift with 7-8 rods. Cast one out and drop the next one almost straight down. The sonar also has a pretty good sized cone in 30+ fow.

Interesting they could smell your bait that far away.

Looks like they were 12' above the bait when you drifted over them, response time was pretty fast too!
