I know this is bass section but figured you guys would know this best. I promised some kids that I would take them fishing and want to take them tilapia fishing. Is this a good time at Squaw and is there a specific area? I hope to get them in a lot of bites.

I have not targeted tilapia there, but I hear that the creek up north is good. Just use a cork and some worms. Should have fun.

I will be out there tomorrow. I will watch the graph and see where they are grouped up. I know one cove that has been loaded the past few weeks.

During the summer we sacked them up on the north end under a bobber with a worm.
I would head south towards the outlet cove. They are stacked down there in the warmer water right now. Good luck and bring a big towel. They are hard to get a hold on, and will make a mess all over the place.

2 creeks on the south end (both sides of the dam) are loaded...fish were in 8-10ft...easy to catch with real worms and bobber. I would suggest 10-12lb line so you can reel them in easily. Use a long shank hook as well...helps to take the hook out easier. They tend to swallow the bait pretty good.

this is my thought... id stay south where the water is warmer

Wow Thanks guys. Hopefully next weekend it will be warm enough. Sounds like I'll be busy taking fish off hooks.

Me and my daughter was out there about 3 weeks ago and caught about 20 on 1/4 Oz crappie jig head with a half cut night crawler bouncing it off the bottom in 2 to 8 ft of water in the back cove.
