haha. You're late to the party. I've been flipping reeds in that lake for a month and a half now. And yes, it is almost the most fun a bass fishing guy can have....legally. Lol it's really fun when the water is dead calm and you fill the "pop" before the bait hits bottom.

Lol. I think you are late to the party. I have been catching them flipping reeds on that lake for 25yrs.

Great to hear the good reports. Me and my first tournament partner back in the early 90's used to spend all December and January on Fairfield even though his parents owned a place on Fork, Val's Landing. It is where he taught me all about fishing RatLTraps in the grass especially back in those days when you would get hammered by a Redfish every now and then. It is where I first saw a Slugo bait. Guys were absolutely crushing some bass in the reeds with them and we just sat back and watched. Didn't take us long to go buy some bags and start using them. It was always great to be fishing and see deer all over also. One of my favorite lakes and glad to hopefully see it come back strong.

Fairfield used to be good for a big ole red fish nearly every trip. My biggest out there was just over 9 lbs on a spinner bait just off the outside reed edge. Love this little lake, glad to hear the bass are making a comeback.

Did all the redfish die off? We seen a lot of guys throwing wacky worms on outside edges of reeds. The only consistent bite for us was way up in the thick stuff flipping.

I haven't seen a redfish out there in 3 years. And we used to target them. IF there are any in the lake still they're few and far between.
