What is the longest length you fish a dropshot rig? From the hook to the weight? Any tips are appreciated

Depends on the depth of water & clarity too. I fished with a couple of killer West Coast guys at Lake Casitas and Castaic. They use 3-4 foot between weight and worm out there.
Around here I would go with 12-18" mostly.

There is no right way. Only wrong ways. Lol. Depends on the fish, depths, water clarity, etc. If I am dropping down from the bow on them I'm likely to use a really long or really short leader......casting out to them (longer). If I'm fishing suspending fish in deep water, I use a longer leader to the weight. It helps make the presentation a little stealthier. If I'm fishing the bait touching bottom, I'll usually use a shorter leader (6" or so) to make little stirrups in the bottom. Looks more like a little bait fish searching for food. I think most guys use WAY TOO LONG of a leader when touching bottom.
On average, I'll use a 4-6" leader
Are you as confused as I am? See....only wrong ways. Haha.
Eat. Sleep. Fish.

Very situational, but average 1ft. I have been in a couple of situations where I was fishing 8-10inches from hook to weight and my buddy was outfishing me with with a longer leader until I went to 18 inches.
I have gone to 3ft in the fall when the deep grass starts dying off, instead of the fish being in the grass, they were hovering over it.
Line diameter in clear water is a more important factor, and have seen 6lb test outfish 10lb test big time.

Don't neglect fishing a shakey head on bottom instead of just a weight

Don't neglect fishing a shakey head on bottom instead of just a weight I only do that with a loooonnnggg leader. Try that with a 6 inch leader and you're hitting the bass in the face with the worm if he cruises in to look at the Shakey head bait. Just my thoughts. I like a long leader. At least 12 inches and up to 36 or more if the fish are off the bottom.

If I'm dropping straight down I use a shorter leader. You can just pick up the bite quicker and more sensitive. I've I"m dragging I usually use 12-16" Sometimes in grass I will use longer than that, just above the grass. It's amazing when you get that weight stuck in the grass then you rip it out. Vicious strikes

If the water is clear I'll lean towards a longer leader but really let the fish tell you. I've caught more fish with a leader no longer then 8ins.

12-18", never fished a shorter leader but have shared the boat with someone who was and i was getting a lot more bites. Not sure if it was the fisherman or the leader length though. Same weight size and same worm

12 to 18 for me. But shorter has also worked as well. I also use zoom they last longer as said above.
