So what type/length/colors of worms should a new worm fisherman look into buying?

Great article. #1 is absolutely correct-I catch way more fish on a sliding weight than a pegged weight.

That is informative. I now definitely will limit pegging a worm. Glad he covered worm retrieval techniques too, as you don't hear too much on this.

So what type/length/colors of worms should a new worm fisherman look into buying? Look at Zoom ....buy lots of straight tail and ribbon tail worms..... Watermelon, watermelon/red, black/blue tail, in Berkly power baits look at craw chiggers in same colors.....2-4/0 hooks.....1/8 - 3/8 tungsten weights......get to fishing

So what type/length/colors of worms should a new worm fisherman look into buying? Blue fleck power worm would be a great one to start with

On most of these lakes in Texas, green pumpkin or watermelon red will normally get you bit but don't be afraid to try other colors. Black is also one color that you can't go wrong with.

Red Shad 10" power worms will get bit. Also try LFT worms, the Blue fleck red is good in the spring during post spawn.

My PB came on a worm. I mostly use 7.5" Culprits. Crawdad is my favorite color and found it will get bit on any lake I have fished except Amistad (Watermelon red is the only color that worked for me). Lately green pumpkin/blue fleck has produced better.

Any color or shade purple or grape will get you bite on most lakes,i have only thrown them 50 years and they still work.

Larry Nixon is regarded by many of his peers as the Worm-Master. I saw him catch a limit of keeper bass once in 7 minutes. One of my all time favorite videos is of him catching a 7+ in a BASS Mega-Bucks event on the Harris Chain in Florida.. It is awesome! You can Google images of a T-rigged plastic worm and find a few thousand pix.
