ANY input/insight on this is appreciated. This is my first boat and I'm always learning. I have a Motorguide 82lb Thrust trolling motor. It is wired, and it kicks but on the water. Lately, I've been having problems wih the foot pedal control. The pedal has 3 modes of control: Constant On, Momentary On, and High Bypass. Most of the time, I have to have it in momentary for regular trolling. High bypass would go as fast as possible any time i set my foot on it (as expected). Constant on just turns on my motor and keeps it on. Last month, on one particular day for regular trolling, I had to run it on Constant On. Momentary would just turn on for split moments, and high bypass did what it always did. Another thing that has been happening lately, there's been days where the knob on the left controlling velocity responds differently then the next. For example, normally I have a wide range of velocity to choose from, so the knob can turn quite a bit. The amount I can turn it changes as the high to lo area is much smaller for some reason? What is wrong here? Is there something wrong with my pedal? My batteries are charged and good, and the connection is fine. I'm hoping someone can make a suggestion here. thanks, Dan

Just thinking out loud. The probability of multiple knobs and switches failing at the same time is small. There is most likely a circuit board that controls function and speed. I would access that, clean connections and spray with a corrosion inhibitor and put it back together and see how it performs. A lot of weird problems can be attributed to bad/dirty connections. If you still have the issue, I would find a MG repair shop and let them do the troubleshooting and repair. You can spend a lot of money troubleshooting by throwing parts at it. Also, depending on the age of the TM, you may just want to look at replacing it.

Hmm. Thanks for your input Bob. What about replacing the foot pedal ? Or is it trouble for me to find a proper replacement?

Being the momentary on-off switch is acting up I would change it. The little rubber bonnet that sets on top of the switch wears out.
