When I was in school, we did not have fishing teams. If you wanted to play on the JV or Varsity teams in whichever sport, you went to the tryouts, worked your butt off, learned the play book and hoped you were better than the next guy. How do they figure out who makes the fishing team? If 20 guys want to be on the team, do they have fish-offs to determine who wears the school's colors? Do schools have more than one team? Do schools offer support?

Be safe,

I think if all 20 want to fish they do. The other problem is getting enough boat captains for all the 2 man teams.

Didn't have a highschool team but the way we do ours is if you want in you're in. Most college tournaments we can have as many teams as we want to fish it. Championship tournaments are the only exception. We have 11 people in our club but only 4 boats. We usually can get everyone if all want to go but a few usually have other things to do (homework, sports, etc.) To determine who goes to the championship tournaments, we just do it by who has a boat and then whoever does fundraising more or who fished more tournaments and did well
