Bought a couple of MrCrappie 9fters from Academy and I like them a lot, rods are great, little imitation baitcasters, not so much, pre-spooled line keeps getting inside the spool. Was wanting to get 2 more. Was looking at the tiny spinning reels or the trigger models, would like to be able to cast a little bit. Any pros/cons/ I mean it looks like I can get them for about $35 each so its not a big deal, but wanted SOME feedback. Also what is a good price to pay for one of those "spider" rod holders with 4 seats on it?

I've always been a Shimano person but I've been rigging my crappie rods with the Pfluger Trion 120. It's only $30 at Wal-Mart and the action is better than my Shimano's. It's stout enough to handle the occasional bass.
To whom much is given, much is required.

Wally's baitcasters are more for trolling in my opinion. But, if you want a nice spinning reel I'd go with Wally's WSP100 for $30. Definately can't beat it for the price. Might be harder to find but, you can always order direct from Lews.com. I've been using the WSP100 exclusively for about 3 years now and have had no problems at all. And, I prefer Wally's 6# hi-vis mono.

Take a look at the Quantum Optix 10 at Academy $19.95. I've been using 8 of them for 4 years and no problems with any of them.

I like the Pfluger spinning reels, I have had great luck catching them on sale at Cabela's in Ft. Worth in the bargain cave. And remember to always as if they can do any better, last time I did he knocked an extra $10 off a rod/reel combo that was original price at $80, knocked down to $40 so I got it for $30....I do have some of the older Wally spinning combos but they are hard to find now...
When I am not fishing I am doing Home Inspections! Or is it supposed to be the other way around??? www.kcquality.com Sydney my new fishing partner!

I just purchased a Bass Pro Shops Micro Lite Elite on the recommendation from a friend who has been using them and swears by them. I like it a lot so far and the price is right at $39.

Any crappie reel at 30 dollars are more should be good, and any time you catch them on sale its time to bye. I use shimano for the most part because they are easy to find. But, did get 1 each of Wally's WSP100, WSP75 and his WSP50 and would rate them very high for fishing with small line.

Have 2 Shakespeare bait casters combos that I bought at Wally World over 5 years ago and both have been flawless. I use Cajun Red line 6lb. test line on them as we also have a lot of black bass were we crappie fish. For $30.00 they can't be beat.

I've been using a couple of the Cabelas tournament ZX i belive its called. Little white reels in a size 10. They've held up for years. I really like the Pro Angler crappie rods.
